Here is another great, sweet story from Elliee Atkinson! The story is a breath of fresh air... Nice innocent Western romance with a criminal gang and a harridan of a "moll"!What I love about the author's work is that there are nice, virtuous people in the old West... and some who are kinda bad to the bone! The characters are real, very human, and lovable - or detestable! - which makes the story glide right along. You get swept away in the romance and the excitement of what is happening.The author has a nice, warm writing style that draws you into the story. Also, it it is a nice, clean romance where your heart does go pitter patter as the romance progresses. It's a nice little escape.I enjoy the stories by this author since they are different from the rest.

Another great book in the Fortune In Ely series a story I was not putting down until I had finished the book. A sweet story that could apply to both the time it was written for and this day and age. Mae is a real bully that hates Suzie because Suzie is everything good that she is not. Adam and Joe /Mae's brother will try to protect Suzie from Mae and her outlaw gang. I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this latest instalment in the Fortune In Ely series very much. Ms. Atkinson very capably brings insight into life at the turn of the 20th century in small-town America. The characters are well written and the storyline could equally apply to the 21st century. A tale suitable for young and old!

Susie Mason is a young woman living in Ely who has suffered a tragic loss when her fiancé was killed in an accident several years ago. Since the loss, Susie has kept mostly to herself. However, on one of her shopping trips to town she runs into her friend Adam. Adam was the best friend of her fiancé, Luke, they were a three-some. The action starts when there’s trouble in town with an outlaw gang. Adam wants to protect Susie from any harm that might come her way, but an old jealousy raises its ugly head and puts a lot of people in danger. A must read to understand the jealousy, danger and tension that surrounds the town.This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.

Elliee Atkinson did a wonderful job with this story! Its a part of the Ely, Nevada series, but it is a stand alone story as has all of the books in this series. The main characters in this story are Adam and Suzie. Suzie and Luke were an item until Luke passed away, it has been about 4 years since his passing and Adam is realizing that he is in love with Suzie, but doesn't want to lose her friendship by letting her know how deep his feelings are for her. Ironically Suzie is starting to feel the same way about Adam, but feels like Luke is still standing between them as the 3 of them were best friends forever.Mae and Joe are 2 of the Sheriff's children. Mae has rebelled and moved in with an outlaw and his gang. The problem is Mae is mentally unbalanced and she hates Suzie and had always bullied her with they were little until Suzie and Luke became an item. When Mae realizes that Adam is interested in Suzie, it sets her off and she is out to hurt and destroy both of them! Joe her brother is trying to help protect Suzie as he knows how dangerous his sister is.There is a lot of action, suspense, and danger in this well written clean story. You don't want to put it down once you start reading it!

A charming story about a small town of Ely. Susie Mason has lived there for all her life. She was engaged to be married to Luke. He fell from his horse and hit his head on a pile of rocks and died instantly. Adam was part of this threesome, he was Luke's best friend. Their lives were very intertwined. Adam Caldwell was a nice guy and worked with his father at the mercantile. After a few years, they started to develop feelings for each other.It is a sweet tale with action, a gang of outlaws, and lovers. Mae, Joe's sister, who is not all there, hangs out and lives with the gang. The characters are resilient, kind, and very much protectors. There are some surprises along the way. It is a marvelous book and I love watching as the kids fall in love, the problems they had to face. Great job!I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

These three grew up together and were always friends.In fact Adam was Luke's best friend! When they grew upLike and Suzie fell in love and planned to marry.What happened to change things for these friends? ThisBook is very emotional and the things they all go throughWill break your heart! How do they handle all this?I believe that this book will become a best seller book!I wish I could give it 10 stars of more. I want to say somuch more but I'm afraid 😨I'd give something away!Instead I highly recommend you get this book, see ifYou feel the same way. There are lessons to learn fromIn this story too. The giving goes on! I love this series of books set in the community of Ely and this latest story doesn’t disappoint. Tim has loved Sophie since their schooldays but she fell in love and got engaged to his best friend, Luke. Four years after Luke dies, leaving them both grieving him, Tim wants to get closer to Sophie and she realises she may want more than friendship from him too. Mae, the problem daughter of the Sherrif, has always hated Sophie and now tries to come between them, using her very bad boyfriend and his gang to cause them trouble so she can get Tim away from Sophie. The story of what happens between them all when things come to a head is so good! I was hooked!
